Accent Stripe template filled with a fictional example CV

Layout

A slim vertical stripe of your colour runs down the left edge of the page and repeats on every printed page. The layout is a single sans-serif column with wide margins and relaxed spacing. The name is large but light in weight, in near-black, with the headline in small coloured capitals and contact details separated by middle dots. Section headings are small, coloured capitals without rules.

How ATS software reads it

The stripe is a page border with no text in it, so a parser does not see it at all. What remains is a single column with standard headings in your chosen order, which is the easiest structure for applicant tracking systems to read. The light-weight name is still real text in the PDF. Generous spacing has no effect on parsing, only on how much fits per page.

Best for

  • Design-aware roles in marketing, product or communications
  • Mid-level professionals with a two-page CV
  • Candidates who prefer white space to heavy decoration
  • Applications where a calm, modern look suits the company

If you need to fit a lot of content on a single page, the wide margins and relaxed line spacing here will work against you, so choose Compact One-Page instead.

Tips for this template

  • Plan for two pages if you have more than about eight years of experience, as the spacing is deliberately generous.
  • Choose a confident colour, since the stripe and small headings are the only places it appears.
  • Keep bullets to one or two lines each; the relaxed line height makes long paragraphs feel even longer.
