Monogram template filled with a fictional example CV

Layout

A single sans-serif column with a distinctive header: a rounded square filled with your colour shows your initials in white, and your name, headline and contact line sit to its right. The name is bold and black, the headline is in your colour, and contact items are separated by dots. A thin grey line closes the header. Each section heading is in coloured capitals with a short rounded bar in front of it.

How ATS software reads it

The body is a single column with standard headings, so the work history reads cleanly. The code places your name and contact details before the badge in the text order. The initials in the badge are still text in the PDF, so a parser may pick them up as a stray two-letter word after your contact details; this is usually harmless but worth knowing. The rounded bars beside headings are decoration and are not read.

Best for

  • Freelancers and consultants building a personal brand
  • Client-facing roles in sales, account management or hospitality
  • Networking events and printed CVs handed over in person
  • Candidates who want a polished look without a second column

If you prefer a strictly conventional document with nothing decorative in the header, Classic Professional or Harvard Classic will suit you better.

Tips for this template

  • The badge uses the first letters of your first and last names only, so a middle name will not change it; check the two letters look right together.
  • Choose a strong, dark colour so the white initials in the badge stay clearly readable when printed.
  • Keep the headline to one line; it sits in colour right under your name and works best as a clear job title.
